good round-up to get us to where we are today

by BrendaStewart
Fri Oct 5th, 2007 at 12:34:37 PM EST

I want to say this one thing before we go further into the abyss of the American politics of today.  This is why I just can't and won't sit by silently to watch Mrs. Clinton take the helm of our national politics.  They swing from the calm to the ridiculous of our national politics.

At the end of this next presentation, there are some very important questions we all have to face if we have to think clearly into the political world of which we are to guarantee our votes as being important and our right as Americans.

I have a stubborn streak in me that won't comply to this administration's mandate

by BrendaStewart
Thu Sep 27th, 2007 at 02:21:04 PM EST

I am in constant search of things that make my mind wrap around common sense, as to the fact that I am my own person with a brain that can think and rationalize in the most ruptured world of today's rhetoric of today's political capitulation.  I am blown away with this interview of James Carroll by Tom Dispatch.  It is what I have been thinking for a very long time!

It has been a topic, not only here, but on may websites I have been to and read.  This is absolutely the most ridiculous of all nonsense ever IMHO to think that we have dominion of others of the world in religion.  Give it a read and feedback to me on your opinions of such a description.  BTW, I really enjoyed this display of words that made me really think back to my raising and how I see the world today in a different sight as to the years of old.  I truly have change in my own skin, thanks to this government we have today.
I have taken Zolbys poll taking and have to constantly answer questions as what my religious preference is and am I a born again Christian or how often do I attend church.  What difference does it matter!? to anyone other than to myself and my own beliefs of things.  I do not ask them for theirs!  I am sincerely offended as to this what they assume of me.  They ask me what my gross income is and it never fails that I always say to them, it is not their business by saying, I decline to answer.  There should never be a question such as the above described on any survey for anyone to answer.  I am not going to take any more of these silly surveys.  They have done me in for the very last time.  Also they ask me who I voted for in the last presidential election, is if this really should matter.  We are at a crossroad for saving our beloved America and they ask ridiculous questions to make it look like I am truly interested in their opinion of things...I suppose I am just angered at the whole mess we have let ourselves get into.  I do not care if you are whatever religion you claim to be.  I just ask that you be true to yourself and not let the religions of America or the world make decisions for me on that basis.

how fast could we leave?

a diary from teacherken

I know, hit me on the head and drag me off to the dungeon!  How dare/should I drag a diary over here from the orange community.....well, I do tend to read over there, even tho I do not comment or even have an account to do such.  You see, I left that place a long time ago and I wish not to ever go back for anything, other than reading.   [They still can not stop me from reading there, however.]

This to me has a lot of conversation in it and it needs to be addressed....

So here we go, just how long will it take to leave Iraq?  Will we all leave in a hurry, if we invade Iran?  Will we use nukes to do such a thing?  Can or is there any will to leave either in a hurry or in our own good time?  I suppose the real question is will we ever leave, considering this.  written by our own Susan Hu

I am in such a heart struck opinion that we have to leave at sometime or the other, even if we do have a huge house to live in over there bound by huge walls that the common Iraqi feels it is a sign that they are non-consequential to the essential running of their country.

another good article from tom dispatch

I have found that reading this link is so good for my soul.  Maybe we can find something for all of us to refresh our souls about in this.

There is something I have been missing in our history of all that is happening and I can feel is so worthy of discussion/debate and thought.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

again from tom dispatch

I know these figures have been discussed on one level or the other; however, I found it quite informative to just sit and read them all at one setting.  It is really getting disgusting to have to read such data on this topic.  I am a "short but sweet" type of gal, like greyhawk said..

I just thought you all would enjoy this info as much as I did.

from tom dispatch.

I can tell you that we have never heard this from our mainline press.

I am simply taken by this reading.  As I can see this is our demise and we are becoming a third word nation and in a hurry.

I do not for the life of me, see how this administration can threaten and flim-flam the rest of this world and think they are doing the world a favor!

if we are to believe this from today's news from fran townsend

After reading this article, I found it hard to really believe that this administration is really this stupid to do what they were saying on today's news reports that invasion is on the table.

Now, do we believe this reporting or is it just yet another threat to install fear on peoples of another country?  I think it is just rhetoric from this administration for saying we are going after Bin Laden.  After all bush has shut down that department a loooooong time ago.  I think he is just becoming embarrassed now for not doing the right thing in the first place.  Are the governments of this world that advocate going into this area to find the lawlessness of the 911 crew?  They should have thought of this ahead of stand-downing Tora Bora!

Like who will be doing this invasion?  What army? Do we really have enough personnel in our army/marine corps to do this sort of thing?  God, how much do we and the world have to endure of this administration?  Please have mercy on our souls!

an email I got from the VWMF today

by BrendaStewart
Mon Jun 18th, 2007 at 07:08:18 PM EST

In brief, the National Geographic Channel contracted Towers Productions for a series of three one-hour television programs on the Vietnam War as told by the men and women who were there on the ground.  The narrative portion of each hour serves as a road map of events that will then be highlighted by the individuals being interviewed.

We are trying to match up, whenever possible, photographs or archival footage with people who experienced what is captured in those images.  The programs will not compare Vietnam to what's going on today, nor provide analysis of what happened. The idea is to talk about Vietnam from the people who knew it best, those doing their jobs, carrying out their orders -- whatever those might have been.  We want to talk about perceptions, sensory experiences -- what the air smelled like, cultural understandings, how the soldiers felt, knowledge about the overall operation, being wounded, media reports, camaraderie, etc.

I'm producing the second hour of the 3-part series, focusing on 1968 and the time just prior to and after Tet. While we are in touch with a couple of nurses, I'd be interested in locating a few more to talk about their assignments and the locations where they served.

I'm writing an outline that's due at National Geographic in a week  -- deadline issues are always a problem -- and if you'd be so kind, I'd appreciate you forwarding this email to put me in touch with a board member or anyone who might be interested. You or they can reach me by email or by phone at the number below.

Thanks in advance,

Judy

Memorial day

by BrendaStewart
Sun May 27th, 2007 at 12:40:10 PM EST

Promoted by Steven D.

Some people take this time to have BBQ and party.  Some people take this time to travel and see family.  Some people take this time to visit the cemetery and place flowers at the grave side of lost loved ones.

I will do only one thing. I will go to the grave side of my middle child and give her some live flowers.  Live flowers are a tribute to her and her life.  She was full of life and she was bright and giving.  She was a veteran of the Navy Reserve and loved what she did in that regard as well.  She was loved by many and is missed by many too.  But there is not one day that does not go by that I do nto think of her.  I even have dreams of her at times.

well, well, well,........

Well, as I see it the 9 months it has taken for this group to investigate this and then the time it took for them to compromise on the he wording and things then the time it took to edit the passage and then get it to the printer; things have changed dramatically since all of this has happened.  This study is way out of date.  Things are much much worse than when they started or even ended their study.
I suggest this is just a slap in the face of jr and then get back to the normal ways of this government to deceive us all.  This is their nomenclature.  I call their cards on this and call it a dog and pony show.  Or, as one would say, a wag the dog show.

I think they are all playing us for fools..and we will be fools, if we take any of this as gospel.

Now mind you, this is just my honest opinion on things but I do not intend on getting burned again from any government.  I listened to Russ Feingold last night and it dawned to me that he knows what he is speaking about.  It would behoove us to listen to him.

NO wonder poppy was crying....I bet Barb's beautiful mind is crying too..not!  Their reputation is in ruins, what is why they are all crying the blues.  God help us all for this family and the cheney family have done to all of us and the world!  They and all of their cronies deserve what they get in Hell!  What demons they are!

What do you think of this?

by BrendaStewart
Sat Sep 30th, 2006 at 01:26:09 PM EST

from todays truthout

To me it sound like a shake down if ever there was one.

Sounds to me like RICO needs to be enacted against all of these guys who do stuff like this.  We are most certainly in dangerous time!  My Constitution means more than this man's words.  He is part of the mob and one of their henchmen.  To me, he is in cya his and his boss's ass and he needs to be brought before court for impeachment.  Not to think of all the citizens of America, he is only thinking of those few.  We have to dismantle this way of governing or else we are most certainly doomed.  We must get democrats in congress this year.  It is essential!  Make this administration the lamest duck ever in history!  Bring then to justice, please, my fellow citizens.

Look, Folks, I know I am preaching to the choir here, but, we must do something and become the ones who save us all from this mess.  We out here in blogging land just have to et the message out what these evil, bad guys are doing to our Constitution and to our Democracy.  It does not take a rocket scientist to see it for what it is.  So, Please.......get tough...get mean, get ready to fight fire with fire, for that is the only thing this kind of régime knows how to fight.   Time is over and done with for giving them enough rope to hang themselves.  They just keep going an doing with their ghastly deeds.  They never seem to learn any lessons.  Lets take them all down...for the health and safety of America and for the betterment of us all!!!

Thanks for letting me rant, but this is sheer and utter breaking the law to do what the head of the DOJ wants to do.  It is really simple...it is wrong.

Now, tell me, what is wrong with this picture?!

by BrendaStewart
Mon Sep 4th, 2006 at 08:16:31 AM EST

stupid is as stupid does.

This very simple, if one just looks at the picture.  One can really tell of the intellect of this one man.  He is such a mindless person.  Just how can this man read what he says he reads when he can't read the simplest of books.  This just blows my mind away each and every time I see it.

The article is not bad either, if you chose to read it.

Happy Labor Day.
