Vote to Impeach Cheney

by BooMan
Tue Nov 6th, 2007 at 03:05:16 PM EST

The House is voting on whether to start impeachment hearings for vice-president Dick Cheney. You can watch the vote here and you can get the roll call in about an hour here.

Steny Hoyer rose to make a motion to table, or kill, the bill. They are voting on Hoyer's motion right now. So far, 22 Democrats have voted to kill the bill and 13 have voted to go ahead with it.

We won't know who voted which way until the roll call is posted because the House votes through electronic ballot.

36.

If the Yes Dem votes switch their votes to Nay at the last moment, the motion to table will fail.

So essentially what's going to happen is that despite Bush polling worse than Nixon and Cheney being less popular than herpes the Democrats are going to kill this bill.  Amazing.

That is just hilarious, total theatre of the absurd.

the best part is that it's the Democrat Party (who are really earning that pejorative today) working to kill the bill.  Super-duper schweet.  I love watching people with no values or consciences take of the mask and reveal themselves for the filth they are.  And there is nothing quite as invigorating as the smell of hypocrisy on a chilly afternoon.

Bravo, Democrats. BRA. VO.

The Repubs all switched their votes:  107 voted to debate the bill, compared with 69 Dems.

Final tally, 235-176.

Wait they're still switching...3 Dems just switched their votes: 230-181.

Assholes.

As usual, the Dems have been outwitted and outplayed by the Repugs, who will now be able to claim that they were twice as willing as the Dems to discuss this.

Wow, the vote to kill the bill is now down to 214, which means they can't just table it, now 212-199, 211, 210-201, 209-202, 207-204, now 208-203.

This is weird...

this ALMOST makes up for Schumer.
ALMOST.

What a bunch of fucking retards.  No, cancel that: I have worked with the retarded, and they are FAR more competent at just about anything than these pompous, calculating maroons.

Also, the retarded seem to be genuinely nice people, which is far more than can be said for the swine in congress.
